2019 NFL Draft Stock Up, Stock Down

Stock Up

QB Kyler Murray- Arizona Cardinals

Round 1 Pick 1 (1st overall)

After years of trying to get Kyler Murray, Kliff Kinsbury, finally got his guy. Now that Kinsbury and Murray are together it should really benefit the two. When Kinsbury was a coach in the college ranks he lead two different schools to first in the nation in total offense. In all six of his college seasons as a coach his offense was never outside the top 20 in total offense or top 15 in passing offense. He has a QB friendly offense as he has had a top 10 pass attack in every season as a coach. Last season in 9 games at Oklahoma Kyler Murray when 161-225 for 2768 yards with 27 touchdown passes and 4 interceptions. He also ran the ball 79 times for 550 yards and 7 touchdowns. Murray could be the perfect QB to run Kinsburys' offense as he can make all the throws needed and because of his athletic ability to make plays. Murray could very well have a Patrick Mahomes or Baker Mayfield type impact. What I mean by that is you could draft Murray as your number 2 QB and by seasons end be your week in and week out starter at the position.

RB Josh Jacobs- Oakland Raiders

Round 1 Pick 24 (24th overall)

Coming into the draft Jacobs was the number 1 ranked back and went to possible the best situation to have an immediate impact as a rookie. Jacobs does not have much competition for carries as Isaiah Crowell is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. While at Alabama Jacobs did not carry the ball a ton as he never eclipsed 120 carries in a season. For his career he has 251 carries in 3 seasons so he has not taken many hits.

WR Mecole Hardman- Kansas City Chiefs

Round 2 Pick 24 (56th overall)

With the status of Tyreek Hill in doubt Mecole Hardman may have gone to the perfect landing spot. He is the same size and has the same quickness as Hill as he ran a 4.33 second 40 yard dash. Since Hardman is similar to Hill the Chiefs should use Hardman like they used Hill. This is good as Patrick Mahomes liked to throw to Hill.

TE Noah Fant- Denver Broncos

Round 1 Pick 20 (20th overall)

The Broncos may have finally found the playmaking TE they have been lacking since Julius Thomas left. With the lack of playmakers in the Broncos pass attack there should be plenty of opportunities for Fant to make plays. Joe Flacco at QB should help the value of Fant as Flacco likes to throw to the TE position. In 2012 Flacco helped Denise Pitta and Ed Dickson to have career years. If you combined their stats they would have had 82 receptions for 894 yards and 7 touchdowns which would have been good for 4th overall TE in the 2012 season.

Stock Down

QB Daniel Jones- New York Giants

Round 1 Pick 6 (6th overall)

The Giants selected Daniel Jones in the first round to be the successor to Eli Manning. If this is the case Jones may not play for 3 or 4 seasons and not make a impact for your fantasy team this season. When Jones finally does play he may not be all that good. In 4 seasons at Duke, yes Duke does have a football team, Jones underwhelmed as he struggled against subpar competition. He has never surpassed 2900 yards or 22 touchdowns in a season in his career.

RB Devin Singletary- Buffalo Bills

Round 3 Pick 11 (75th overall)

In 3 straight seasons at Florida Atlantic Devin Singletary has over 1000 and at least 12 touchdowns. Those are good statistics but he landed in possibly the worst landing spot a RB. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills who have LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore who is going to play forever and T.J. Yeldon on the roster.

WR Marquise Brown- Baltimore Ravens

Round 1 Pick 25 (25th overall)

When Marquise Brown was at Oklahoma he was one of the most electrifying players in the nation. He was on a team that threw the ball a lot but he has landed on a team in the Ravens who run the ball more than they pass it. Last season the Ravens ran the ball 47.74 % of the time. Lamar Jackson did not show that he can get the ball to the open receiver accurately consistently.

TE T.J. Hockenson- Detroit Lions

Round 1 Pick 8 (8th overall)

T.J. Hockenson joins a TE group in Detroit that is getting crowded as they have Jesse James, Michael Roberts and Jerome Cunningham already on the roster. The Lions historically have not featured the TE position that much in their offense. The Lions want to run the ball more this season so Hockenson will be do a lot of blocking. The Lions hired Darrell Bevell as their offensive coordinator who when he was with the Seahawks was top 10 in run percentage per game.
