Free-Agency Recap

QB Russell Wilson Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson was acquired by the Denver Broncos in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, along with a fourth-round pick, for two first-round picks, two second-rounders, a fifth-rounder, QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant and DT Shelby Harris. In Russell Wilson’s 10-year NFL career, he’s ranked inside the top 10 in passing attempts just twice while finishing inside the top-12 in passing yards in five of six seasons from 2015 to 2020. Wilson has finishing as a top-12 QB every season of his pro career except last season, the first year he didn’t play a full season. Since 2016 Wilson ranks first in pass attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns and expected points added on passes of 20-plus air yards. He should build on strong passing numbers now that he is with a team that will actually throw the ball down the field. Wilson will have a bevy of pass catchers at his disposal, most notably wide receivers Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick, tight end Albert Okwuegbunam and running back Javonte Williams.

WR Davante Adams

Las Vegas Raiders

Davante Adams was acquired by the Las Vegas Raiders in a trade with the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick and 2022 second-round pick. Adams will sign a new contract with the Raiders for five years, $141.25 million and he reunites with Derek Carr, his college quarterback at Fresno State. Adams has averaged more than 21 fantasy points per game in three of his last four seasons, during which time he had found the end zone a combined 47 times. Adams has also scored more than 329 fantasy points three different times during in single seasons in that time (2018-21). Adams may not score as many points with the Raiders due in part to the fact that he will lose some targets since he will not be the only playmaker in the passing game. Going from Aaron Rodgers to Derick Carr also will probably not be a benefit to Adams fantasy value this season.

TE Noah Fant

Seattle Seahawks

Noah Fant was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks in a trade with the Denver Broncos, along with QB Drew Lock, DT Shelby Harris, two first-rounders, two second-rounders and a fifth-rounder, for QB Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick. Only TE 25 or younger to average 9.5 + ppg each of the last two seasons. One good thing for Fant is the fact that he will have a rapport with the Seahawks QB as it is his QB from in Denver Drew Lock. Fant’s problem though is going to be that he will be the third option in the passing game of the Seahawks.

QB Mitchell Trubisky Pittsburgh Steelers

Mitchell Trubisky signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Trubisky joins a Steelers team that has a strong run game and has solid pass catcher for him to throw the ball to. He finishing 15th in points among quarterbacks back in 2018. During that season, he averaged 18.8 points per game. Trubisky finished as the fantasy QB11 points per game back in 2018 after averaging 30 rushing yards per contest.

From 2017-2020 Trubisky had

64% completion

87.2 qbr

6.7 Y/A

8.1 air yards per attempt

23% to RBs 58% to WRs 18% to TEs

34% to slot

11% deep passes

49% pass yards after catch

RB Raheem Mostert Miami Dolphins

Raheem Mostert signed a one-year deal worth $3.125 million with the Miami Dolphins. Mostert knows the offense of new Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel during their time together in San Francisco. For Mosterts’ career he’s averaged 5.7 yards per carry and scored 14 TDs on 320 career touches. Injuries will be the biggest question for Mostert as he has suffered a season ending injury in the last two seasons.

TE Evan Engram Jacksonville Jaguars

Evan Engram signed a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Eagles TEs had a 32% target share during Doug Peterson’s time with the Eagles. Zach Ertz had a four year stretch where he saw between 106 and 156 targets. The one thing that could hinder Engram is the fact that the Jags will have A lot of mouths to feed in the passing game and he will not have many opportunities to make plays.
