New Coach's Affect on New Team

1.Ron Rivera Washington Redskins

Ron Rivera was hired as head coach of the Washington Redskins on December 31,2019. Scott Turner was hired on January 8,2020 to serve as the Redskins offensive coordinator. In Turners first stint with the Panthers he lead Cam Newton to Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2011 and broke the NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a QB with 14. In 2013 with the Cleveland Browns as WR coach he helped Josh Gordon to the best receiving season in Browns history. Gordon became the first Browns player to lead the NFL in receiving yards with 1646. With the Vikings Turner helped Sam Bradford to a Vikings record in single-season completions (395) , interception percentage (0.9; five in 552 attempts). In 2017 at Michigan he lead the offense to feature three RBs who averaged 5.0 yards per carry or better. In 2018 in his return to the Panthers was a real benefit to Cam Newton. Newton posted 67.9% completion percentage which is the highest in Panthers history. He also had a 94.2 passer rating which was third-best in franchise history. Cam Newton finished the season with a franchise record for most completions in a season with 378.





2.Matt Rhule Carolina Panthers

Matt Rhule was hired as head coach of the Carolina Panthers on January 7, 2020. Joe Brady was hired on January 14,2020 to serve at the Panthers offensive coordinator. Last season Joe Brady lead the national champions LSU Tigers to one of if not the best offenses in college football seasons and will now try to bring his offense into the NFL. In 2017-2018 Brady was with the New Orleans Saints they were third in the NFL with 911 total points in that span. Drew Brees had a cumulative passer rating of 109.5 over that span is second highest in the NFL. In Joe Brady's lone season at LSU he helped QB Joe Burrow to win the Heisman Trophy. LSU finished with the top-rated offense with 568.5 yards per game and 484 points per game. They finished second in passing offense with 401.6 points per game. Joe Burrow set a new FBS single-season record with 60 touchdowns. His 5671 passing yards are tied for third all time in a single season and his 202.0 passer rating is a single season record. WR Ja'Marr Chase was second in FBS with 127.1 receiving yards per game and lead all FBS with 20 receiving touchdowns.





3.Mike McCarthy Dallas Cowboys

Mike McCarthy was hired as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys on January 6, 2020. Kellen Moore was hired on January 31,2019 to serve as the Cowboys offensive coordinator. 2019 was Kellen Moore's first season as an offensive coordinator and lead the Cowboys to one of the best offenses. The Cowboys had a league high of 431.5 yards per game with 6.5 yards per play. They were second in the NFL in passing yards with 296 a game, 5th in rushing a game with 134.6 yards and 6th in scoring with 27.1 points per game. The Cowboys were mainly a shotgun offense as they utilized the shotgun 63.9% of the time. More that 35% of their total rush attempts came from the shotgun formation. More than 82% of the Cowboys pass attempts came from the shotgun.





4.Joe Judge New York Giants

Joe Judge was hired as head coach of the New York Giants on January 7,2020. Jason Garrett was hired on January 17,2020 to serve as the Giants offensive coordinator. When Jason Garrett was the Dallas Cowboys head coach they had one of the NFL's most productive offenses. They had a top 10 offense in 8 of the 10 seasons Garrett was head coach. Last season the Cowboys had one of the best offenses with a league high 431.5 yards per game with 6.5 yards per play. They were second in the NFL in passing yards 296.9 a game, 5th in rushing with 134.6 yards a game and 6th in the league with 27.1 points per game. They also were tied for second in third-down conversion percentage (47.1 with 96 success in 204 opportunities).






5.Kevin Stefanski Cleveland Browns

Kevin Stefanski was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns on January 12,2020. Alex Van Pelt was hire on January 29,2020 to serve as the Browns offensive coordinator. Alex Van Pelt had his most successful tender as a coach when he was the QB coach with the Green Bay Packers in 2014-2017. In that span Aaron Rodgers played the best in his career as he had 64% completions with 14305 passing yards and 125 touchdown passes with 26 interceptions. In 2014 Aaron Rodgers won the NFL MVP with 4381 passing yards, 38 touchdowns with 5 interceptions and a passer rating of 112.2. In 2016 Rodgers led the NFL with 40 touchdowns and became the second QB in NFL history to post 600 plus attempts and 7 or fewer interceptions in a season.
