Play 'Em Bench 'Em QBs For Week 1

Play 'Em

1.Lamar Jackson Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins

If you waited to draft a QB in your fantasy football draft there is a good chance you ended up with Lamar Jackson as your QB. If this is the case you should feel confident in starting Jackson as he faces the Dolphins who struggle on the defensive side of the ball. In the offseason Jackson improved as a passer which will help his value as it adds another dimension to his game. Last season the Dolphins gave up an average of 18.71 points per game to opposing QBs. They were the 23rd ranked defense at defending the QB position.

2.Mitchell Trubisky Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers

If you waited to just play the matchups at the QB position this season Mitchell Trubisky is your guy for week 1. Last season when the Bears played the Packers Green Bay had a hard time containing Trubisky. Trubiskys rushing adds to his value as he is not just one dimensional. Last season the Packers gave up an average of 17.82 points per game to opposing QBs. They were the 21st ranked defense at defending the QB position.

Bench 'Em

1.Marcus Mariota Tennessee Titians @ Cleveland Browns

This week Mariota is missing his starting left tackle Taylor Lewan as he is serving a 4 game PED suspension. This is going to be a problem for Mariota as his blind side is going to be protected by a backup. Having a backup lineman have to block Pro Bowl defensive end Myles Garrett is not an ideal situation. Last season the Browns gave up an average of 17.57 points per game to opposing QBs. They were the 20th ranked defense at defending the QB position.

2.Kyler Murray Arizona Cardinals vs Detroit Lions

If you have watched the Cardinals offense in the preseason you know it has been a struggle. In the 4 preseason games Kyler Murray did not throw a touchdown pass. The Cardinals have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL so Murray will not have much time to find the open receiver. Last season the Lions gave up an average of 17.45 points per game to opposing QBs. They were the 19th ranked defense at defending the QB position.
