Mike Davis Carolina Panthers vs Detroit Lions

It looks like it is going to be the Mike Davis show again in Carolina as Christian McCaffrey is out with a shoulder injury. This is good for Davis as he will not have any competition for carries as the Panthers other backs are not a threat to take away carries. The Lions have given up an average of 126 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs this season. They have given up a top 10 RB finish in 7 of the 9 games that they have played this season. The Lions have given up 35.89 points per game to opposing RBs this season. They are the 32nd ranked defense at defending the RB position.

D’Andre Swift Detroit Lions @ Carolina Panthers

Last week Lions rookie RB D’Andre Swift got his first start as a pro and he played extremely well. He got most of the carries as Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson got 6 carries between the two. Swift has scored a rushing touchdown in 4 of his last 6 games that he has played this season. The Panthers have given up an average of 108 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs this season. They have given up a top 15 RB finish in 7 of the 10 games that they have played this season. The Panthers have given up an average of 28.73 points per game to opposing RBs this season. They are the 29th ranked defense at defending the RB position.

Todd Gurley Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

If you have better options than Gurley this week I would consider playing them instead. Gurley this week faces a Saints defense that has really been playing well lately especially in the run game. The Saints have given up an average of 67 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs this season. They have not given up a top 10 RB finish so far this season. The Saints have not given up a 100 yard rusher in 52 straight games. The Saints have given up an average of 18.47 points per game to opposing RBs this season. They are the 2nd ranked defense at defending the RB position.

James Robinson Jacksonville Jaguars vs Pittsburgh Steelers

This season James Robinson has been one of the best waiver wire pickups of the year but he may have one of his worst performances of the season this week. He is facing a Steelers defense that has been extremely tough on opposing RBs this season as that is the strength of their defense. The Steelers have given up an average of 84 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs this season. They have given up a top 10 RB finish in 1 of the 9 games that they have played this season. The Steelers have given up an average of 17.67 points per game to opposing RBs this season. They are the 1st ranked defense at defending the RB position.
