Play 'Em Bench 'Em RBs For Week1

Play 'Em

1.Mark Ingram Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins

If you saw the Ravens offensive scheme last season Ingram is in store for a boatload of carries. He does not have much competition in the backfield as Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are the only other RBs on the roster. The Ravens should be up early in this game as they face the Dolphins who may or may not be tanking this season and run the ball a lot. Last season the Dolphins gave up an average of 27.44 points per game to opposing RBs. They were the 28th ranked defense at defending the RB position.

2.Marlon Mack Indianapolis Colts @ Los Angles Chargers

I know you are thinking that with the retirement of Andrew Luck is really bad for the Colts offense but it is not as bad as you think. In 2017 when Jacoby Brissett started for the injured Andrew Luck Brissett was a really solid QB. This will help Mack as the defense will not be able to stack the box in the run game. The Colts have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL so this will help open up the holes for Mack to run thru. Last season the Chargers gave up an average of 26.74 points per game to opposing RBs. They were the 26th ranked defense at defending the RB position.

Bench 'Em

1.Derrick Henry Tennessee Titians @ Cleveland Browns

This week will be Henrys first game action as he has been out all of training camp and all preseason with a calf injury. This would make me nervous about playing Henry this week as he may not be in game shape. He also will be without his best run blocker in Taylor Lewan who is out serving a 4 game PED suspension. Last season the Browns gave up an average of 25.16 points per game to opposing RBs. They were the 21st ranked defense at defending the RB position.

2.Bills RBs vs New York Jets

The Bills backfield is one that you will want to avoid right now as they are a RB by committee. They do not have one RB that has separated himself from the pack to be "the guy" right now. The Jets defensive line is a sneaky good one as they have rookie defensive tackle Quinten Williams and Pro Bowl defensive end Leonard Williams. Last season the Jets gave up an average of 23.35 points per game to opposing RBs. They were the 12th ranked defense at defending the RB position.
