Play 'EM Bench 'EM TEs For Week 2

Play ‘Em

Jordan Akins

Houston Texans vs

Baltimore Ravens

With the Texans trade of WR DeAndre Hopkins it has freed up plenty of targets in the passing game. Akins is getting the red zone targets from QB Deshaun Watson which is good as it shows that he trust Akins when they get close. The Ravens have given up an average of 19  points per game to opposing TEs this season. They are the 28th ranked defense at defending the TE position.

Eric Ebron

Pittsburgh Steelers vs

Denver Broncos

This season the Steelers could use Eric Ebron as a mismatch chess piece according to beat writer Nick Farabaugh. That is good as when he was used similarly like this with the Colts he had a Pro Bowl season. The Broncos have given up an average of 23.20  points per game to opposing TEs this season. They are the 30th ranked defense at defending the TE position.

Bench ‘Em

Rob Gronkowski

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers

Last week Gronk returned from a year away from football and it showed in his play. He had only 2 receptions and in those 2 receptions he looked like he may have lost a step. Gronk also was out targeted by fellow TE O.J. Howard which is not good for Gronk. The Panthers have given up an average of 11.70 points per game to opposing TEs this season. They are the 17th ranked defense at defending the TE position.

T.J. Hockenson

Detroit Lions @

Green Bay Packers

Since Hochenson was a first round pick out of Iowa he has not had many big games. Last week Hockenson had a great opportunity to have a big game as Kenny Golladay was out. This  week Golladay has a chance to play which means Hockenson will not have as many opportunities to make plays. The Packers have given up an average of 6.90 points per game to opposing TEs this season. They are the 11th ranked defense at defending the TE position.
