Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 2

Quarterback

Mitchell Trubisky

Chicago Bears

This past week Trubisky may have regained his confidence that made him the second overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 2017. Mitchell Trubisky had 242 passing yards with 3 passing touchdowns vs the Detroit Lions this past week. That was 29 fantasy points this week and was good for the 7th highest fantasy QB finish this week. Mitchell Trubisky is owned in 2.7 % of fantasy leagues.

Running back

Nyheim Hines

Indianapolis Colts

With the injury to Colts RB Marlon Mack (torn Achilles’ tendon) this past week could help Nyheim Hines have a bigger role in the offense. Hines could very well step into the Marlon Mack role in the Colts offense since him and Mack are similar backs in play style. Hines also should have a role all season as Marlon Mack and rookie RB Jonathan Taylor were going to split the work in the backfield. Nyheim Hines had 7 carries for 28 rushing yards and one touchdown and also had 8 receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown vs the Jacksonville Jaguars this past week. That was 22 fantasy points this week and was good for the 4th highest fantasy RB finish this week. Nyheim Hines is owned in 34.2 % of fantasy leagues.

Wide receiver

Laviska Shenault Jr. Jacksonville Jaguars

This week the Jags really got creative in ways to Laviska Shenault involved in the offense as he was used in the pass and run game. This may be the week to get on the Shenault train before it really gets going if the Jags keep getting him the ball in creative ways. Laviska Shenault Jr. had 3 receptions for 37 yards and one touchdown and also had 2 rushes for 10 yards vs the Indianapolis Colts. That was 11.5 fantasy points this week and was good for the 26th highest fantasy WR finish this week. Laviska Shenault Jr. is owned in 6.7 % of fantasy leagues.

Tight end

Greg Olsen

Seattle Seahawks

This week Greg Olsen showed why he was one of Cam Newtons favorite targets as he was one of Russell Wilson’s most reliable targets in the red zone. Olsen was a big part of the offense as he was on the field for 41 of 66 offensive plays (66%) . Greg Olsen had 4 receptions for 24 yards and one touchdown vs the Atlanta Falcons this past week. That was 10 fantasy points this week and was good for the 9th highest fantasy TE finish this week. Greg Olsen is owned in 8.9 % of fantasy leagues.
